About this game
Review the lesson “France Defeated and Occupied: Vichy and Collaboration” from the French history curriculum for 3e (ages 14–15). Its questions are about France defeated and occupied during the Second World War: the lightning defeat by the German army and the armistice; the division of the country into an occupied zone and a so-called “free” zone, separated by the demarcation line; the regime set up in Vichy around Marshal Pétain, and what separates it from the Republic; propaganda, and how to read a poster of the regime; Vichy’s choices against the Jews of France, from the laws of exclusion to the Vel d’Hiv Roundup; and what historians call state collaboration with Nazi Germany.
