About this game

Count candies in a box, up to 20, then write how many there are. Just for practice, with no grade.

Count collections up to 20: count, then write the number

In the first year of primary school, children learn to count collections up to 20. Saying the counting rhyme is no longer enough: they have to count each object only once. Then they have to write the number they found in digits. That is why this skill prepares place value and calculation for the whole year.

In this game, a box shows candies, from 1 to 20. First they are loose, then they are set out in rows. The child counts them and types their number. The game reads the instruction out loud. A game has 8 questions, with a progress bar. It is simple practice, with no grade.

The hint gives a real method: touch each candy once and count in groups of five. This way, the child says “five, ten”, then keeps going. At home, pour some pasta or buttons onto the table. For example, have your child sort them into piles of five, then count them all.

This game is for children aged 6 to 7, in the first year of primary school. It helps them count collections up to 20 with a method. It works online, on computer, tablet or phone.

Tip for counting collections up to 20

Lots of candies? First, touch each candy only once. Then make groups of five in your head. You say: five, ten, then you keep going. The last number you say is how many candies there are. Finally, type that number with the keys.
