About this game

Practice counting from 1 to 5, this time without the number line. Just for practice, with no grade.

Count from 1 to 5 in preschool: repeat to gain confidence

Knowing how to count once is not enough. For the gesture to become sure, the child must do it again often. This practice game offers counting from 1 to 5 in preschool. It uses the gesture from the game with the number line, but without it. So the child must find the number sequence up to five on their own.

The round has five questions. A voice reads the instruction: “Count the objects, then choose the right number.” If the child gets stuck, the hint reminds them to touch each object only once. There is no grade: nothing goes up to the dashboard. So the child plays with nothing at stake, and can play again as often as they like.

This game fits well alongside life in the classroom or at home. For example, have them count the forks, the buttons on a coat or the steps to the door. Then let your child count from 1 to 5 out loud. Also play dominoes or a board game with a dice: every roll becomes practice.

The game is for preschoolers aged 4 to 6. It is free online, on a computer, tablet or phone.

Tip for counting from 1 to 5 without the number line

This time, the number line is not there. But you know the numbers! Say them in your head: one, two, three, four, five. Then touch each object, one by one, saying a number. Never touch the same one twice. Next, listen to your last number: that’s the answer. Finally, choose the right number. You can play again as often as you like.
