About this game

Its questions come from thirteen goals, from grade 1 to grade 2: understanding a short problem, finding the question being asked, spotting the useful information, choosing a diagram, solving problems about adding on, taking away, putting together, comparing or finding the missing part, making equal groups and sharing, solving two-step problems, and finding an end time, a start time or a length of time on a clock.

Review problem solving, Grades 1–2

This review game covers problem solving in math for the first two years of elementary school.

Each round has 5 multiple-choice questions drawn at random. The instructions and answers are read aloud, and a bar shows how far along you are. After each answer, an explanation helps you understand. Hints are free, and you can go back.

The game is for children aged 6 to 8. Play it again for different questions.

Tip for success

For each problem, tell yourself the story in your own words, then ask what we are looking for before you choose.
