About this game

A brush dipped in paint: choose the flower, vase or teddy bear painted in the same color. Just for practice.

Match a color in preschool: from the brush to the painted picture

At 3 or 4, children learn to name colors and spot them around them. To match a color to an object, they first observe carefully, then compare two shades. It is a first step toward sorting by color, practiced in the first two years of preschool.

In this game, a brush dipped in paint appears on the screen. Then your child chooses the picture painted in the same color: a flower, a vase or a teddy bear. A voice reads each instruction, so they can play alone, even before they can read. A round has five questions, and a progress bar shows how far they have come.

It is a practice game, with no grade and no tracking. This way, your child can play again as often as they like, with no pressure. If they hesitate, invite them to say the name of the color out loud before choosing.

To go further, match colors with things around the house: a red marker and a tomato, a yellow sock and a banana… What’s more, a few drops of paint on a sheet of paper make a great matching game. The game is for ages 3 to 5. It is free on a computer, tablet or phone.

Tip for matching the color of the brush

First, look at the brush. Say the name of its color out loud: red, blue or yellow? Then look at each picture. Find the one painted in the same color. Keep the color of the brush in your head while you look. Found it? Touch it!
