About this game

The assessment: one object, three paint splashes. Choose the color of the object. The full result appears at the end.

Match objects to their color: a color assessment in preschool

This game closes the “colors” family with an assessment. Each question shows one object: a whale, a car, a chick… Below it, three paint splashes wait: red, blue and yellow. Your child chooses the splash in the same color as the object. To match objects to their color, they observe, name the color, then compare.

The voice reads the instruction, then the child answers on their own. During the five questions, no help appears. Then the full result appears at the end of the round. This way, you see at a glance which colors your child already knows well.

If mistakes come back, go over the three colors again with the lesson “red, blue, yellow”. Name the color of everyday things together: the sky is blue, a lemon is yellow, a tomato is red.

At home, sort a few toys into three boxes: red, blue and yellow. What’s more, your child can look for an object of each color in the room. This assessment is for the first two years of preschool, ages 3 to 5. It is free on a computer, tablet or phone.

Tip for matching an object to its color

Look carefully at the object. What color is it? Say it out loud. Then look at the three paint splashes. Find the one in the same color as the object. For example, a dolphin is blue, so you choose the blue splash. Nobody helps you during this game, but you can do it!
