The assessment: find the month before, for each month of the year. The full result appears at the end.
This game closes the “time” family with an assessment. For each month of the year, your child finds last month: the month before. It is the trickiest step, because you have to go back in time. And before January? You go back to December of the year before.
The voice reads the question, for example: “This month is February. What was the month before?” Then the child chooses one month out of three. During the eight questions, no help appears. Then the full result appears at the end of the round. This way, you see at a glance whether your child knows the order of the months.
If mistakes come back, play “next month” again first, then recite the months backwards together, starting from December.
At home, tear off the pages of an old calendar and ask your child to put them back in order. Then point to one month and ask: “And the month before?” This assessment is for the first year of primary school, ages 6 to 7. It is free on a computer, tablet or phone.
Say the months in order and stop on this month. Last month is the month before: the one you said just before. For example, before March comes February. And before January? Go back to the end of the year: it was December! Nobody helps you during this game, but you can do it!
