About this game

Practise finding the picture that shows a number up to 10: a dice, a domino, fingers, marbles or shapes.

Represent objects up to 10: one number, many faces

The same number can take many forms: a dice, a domino, fingers, marbles or shapes. Learning to represent objects up to 10 means recognising that number in each of its forms. This way, a child in the last year of preschool understands that the quantity does not depend on the object.

Each game has five questions. First, a voice reads the instruction: “Choose the picture that shows…” followed by a number. Then the child looks at several pictures. They count the dots, fingers or objects, then choose the right picture. They practise with no grade, with a progress bar to see where they are.

At home, play “same number”. For example, say “six”: your child shows six fingers, then sets out six spoons, then looks for the 6 on a dice. Then compare all these ways of showing it. This way, they learn to represent objects up to 10 in many ways, which builds their number sense.

This game suits children aged 5 to 6, in the last year of preschool. It is free on computer, tablet and phone.

Tip for finding the right picture

First, listen carefully to the number the voice says. Then look at the first picture. Count the dots, fingers or objects, one by one. Next, do the same with each picture. Keep the one that has the same number as the voice. Finally, choose it. A dice, fingers or marbles can all show the same number!
