3rd Grade 7 Times Table Worksheet: 12 Column Facts Split into 5s and 2s

Ask any teacher which table children dread, and the answer is often the 7s. This 3rd grade 7 times table worksheet keeps it short. It has 12 facts written in columns, from 1 × 7 to 12 × 7. A boy with glasses dribbles a basketball by the title. The facts are mixed, so each one has to be worked out, not counted up. A second page gives the answer key.

Five and two

Seven is five and two. For 8 × 7, find 8 × 5 = 40 and 8 × 2 = 16, then add: 56.

Children already know their 5s and their doubles, so this turns a hard fact into two easy ones. Multiplying by 7 gets faster with each try.

At the table: two to remember

Item c, 7 × 7 = 49, is a square that children often mix up with 48. Say it aloud a few times.

Item d hides a rhyme: 5, 6, 7, 8, because 56 = 7 × 8. Items e and f, 11 × 7 and 12 × 7, go past the usual third grade facts, so call them a bonus.

After the page: weeks on a calendar

A week has 7 days, so each row of a calendar adds one more 7. Count the days in 3 weeks, then in 4: 21, then 28. The 7 times table is right there on the wall.

Come back to the column multiplication facts two days later. Cover the answers, check with the answer key, and keep the slow ones on a sticky note.
